Break Those Bad Habits!!

We’ve almost conquered our first month of the new year! While we’re setting our goals and working hard to achieve them, there may be something standing in our way. Bad habits. We all have them! Some of us have those habits that we just can’t seem get rid of or even try to get rid of. That’s why they are called habits. These are things that we do all of the time whether they are good or bad. Unfortunately some of those habits can hinder us from achieving our goals. Now is the time to break some of those bad habits once and for all! Here are two ways to break those bad habits:

Stop Making Excuses!- If you find yourself always making excuses for why you haven’t done something, it’s time to kick this bad habit ASAP! You cannot achieve all of those great goals that you set if you continue to say “I can’t today” or “I don’t have time right now”. Making excuses will only set you up for a major set back. If you have a plan, execute it! You don’t want the year to end and you haven’t done anything on your goal list. This year is all about succeeding and not procrastinating. So stop making those excuses and even find an accountability partner if you need to. Just do whatever it takes to keep moving forward and achieving your goals.

Plan- As the saying goes, “Failing to plan is planning to fail.” If you don’t plan out what you want to achieve, you most likely won’t achieve it. In order meet deadlines, we must plan accordingly. If there is no plan, you really have nothing. You don’t have to type up a 50 page plan book. Something as simple as a planner will do. Plan what you want to get done and most importantly, make it happen!! Plain and simple.

Keep Pushing Forward and break those bad habits,

Misha

Seize the Moment!

I promise you that this blog post was not inspired by carpe diem in any way but I am all about realizing what you have here in the present and not dwelling on the past or looking too far ahead in the future. I know for a fact that we are all very guilty when it comes to dwelling too much in the past. Sometimes it’s just too hard to let go of! BUT we have to in order to achieve all of those life goals that you planned. We also cannot dwell too much on the future. Although planning ahead is great, it is often stressful to worry about things that haven’t happened yet or won’t happen at all. What I would like for you to do from this point forward is to stop worrying! Let’s agree to seize the moment and focus on what’s happening right now. It’s time that we start appreciating the present and enjoy these precious moments whether it be family life, your current career, or anything that’s going on right now that makes you happy. Sadly these great moments get overlooked because we don’t stop to appreciate them.

We must take time out of our busy schedules to stop and think about what we are accomplishing. Even when you set your goals you may tend to focus on what will be accomplished but what about right now? What are you doing at this very moment to get to where you want to be. Are you feeling proud of yourself for taking charge and going after you want? We simply focus on what happened and what;s going to happen and completely ignore what’s happening now. We are depriving ourselves from seizing the moment and it is time that we put a stop to this! Appreciate those around you, appreciate those opportunities that are being sent your way, and appreciate yourself at this very moment. Let’s vow to no longer dwell on the past of the unknown future.

Stay Positive,

Misha

Be Inspirational!

When I think about one of the most greatest feelings ever, I instantly think of being inspired! There’s no greater feeling than getting inspiration from others. When is the last time you’ve been inspired? Did you want to make some changes in your life right away? Did you gain many positive thoughts? These are the things that I want you to think about for a moment. I want you to focus on feeling inspired. I’m sure when you gained some inspiration, you were ecstatic. As you plan ahead for the new year and start setting your goals, I encourage you to go out and inspire others. Yes you are completely capable of doing so. You’d be surprised at how you can inspire the people around you. Maybe you could offer some words of encouragement or help someone in need. Everyone deserves some inspiration from time to time. If you want to be inspired, you must inspire! You never know who needs some inspiration and be uplifted.

I created this blog with the intention to motivate and inspire others because when I am motivated and inspired, I feel great! I want the same for everyone who stumbles across my blog. If we inspired each other instead of discouraging each other, the world would be a much better place. No matter our beliefs, our goals, or desires, we can inspire one another. My challenge for you this upcoming week is to go out and inspire. Promote positivity and motivate those around you. It will be completely worth it. I promise!

How to Set Goals

When I often blog or talk to people about setting goals, one of the questions that I am often asked is: “How do I set goals?” Each time this question is asked, I am often stunned as if I assumed the world already knew how to do so. Well in order to help those who also ponder this question, I decided to blog about it. I suggest you read this carefully as you start to adjust your mindset to goal setting. Here are two important rules that you should follow in order to start achieving your goals right away:

JournalRule #1: Buy a journal! Yes, I am suggesting that you go out and make a purchase but I promise you that this will be one of the best purchases that you will ever make! It doesn’t matter how expensive or inexpensive the journal is. Just own one! Now you’re probably thinking, “Why do I need a journal?”. Here’s why: When you write something down on paper, it becomes permanent. Set in stone. Official. Yes you can talk about the goals that you have but when you actually sit down and write about your goals, it starts to become realistic. Those blank journal pages are just waiting to be filled with positivity. Once you have retrieved your journal. Write down the first thing that comes to mind when you think of your goals. It can be a word or a phrase. Anything! Once this is written down. Think about why you want this for yourself. There is a reason behind all of our goals. You may have not realized that before but now it’s time to figure out why you want to achieve this goal. Write this reason down so whenever you feel discouraged which can happen to even the most positive people in the universe, you’ll be reminded of why you need to keep pushing forward until you’re goal has been achieved. Now you may list your goals! Whether they are short term or long term, they need to be listed. Feel free to write about the steps that you are taking to achieve those goals in your journal. It’s always nice to reflect on our journey to success. Write all things positive inside your journal and write whatever comes to mind. Writing is so therapeutic and I know you’re going to enjoy it so go find a journal and write, write, write!

DoNotDisturb

Rule #2 Do not get distracted!! This is a very important rule. Once you’ve start journaling your goals, you’ll want to start putting your plan for goal achievement into action. While you’re on your path to greatness, please be aware that you will be distracted. It will happen when you least expect it. Your family and friends can distract you when you’re working hard at achieving your goals. Of course they may not mean to distract you but unless you are extremely focused, you can become easily distracted. This is something that you do not want to happen but it happens. You can even distract yourself without even realizing it. You read that correctly. You! Sometimes we can get away from our goal setting mindset and this can put our list of goals on hold for a very long time. We often get caught up with other things and lose focus which results in distraction. To avoid those distractions, you must be driven and very serious about achieving your goals. Do not let anyone deter you from achieving greatness and becoming a better you. You may want to put a do-not-disturb sign on the door of your workspace to remind others just how determined you are to achieve your goals. Do whatever you need to do to avoid those distractions. You have a goal to reach!!!

So now that these rules are known. Be sure to follow them. Remember to set realistic goals and always keep in mind why you want to reach your goal. Stay motivated and determined. You’re going to finally do what you’ve always wanted to do: Set and achieve your goals! I am excited and proud of you for wanting to do so.

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year bloggers and those who follow my blog. Usually I blog and reflect on the year every year on December 31st and then I don’t blog for another 2-5 months later. In order to break this bad habit of mine, I have decided to wait until January 1st to ensure that I start things off on the right note. You all can now hold me accountable to blogging a lot more often. There was so much that I wanted to share with all of you these past few months but I became so overwhelmed with everything that I could not find the time to sit down and blog. This year I promise to keep you updated on setting realistic goals, how to always be excited, and staying motivated. 2015 is going to be such a great year for everyone. I just know it! Stay tuned for my next blog.

Your Journey…

I’ve been away for quite some time now. Not because I got bored with blogging or I no longer like to inspire and uplift. The reason behind my blogging absence is because I have been focusing on my journey. As a recent college grad, I now view the world differently. I look at everything as an opportunity. I’ve realized that each and and every one of us has our own unique journey. We were placed on this Earth to fulfill our dreams, help others achieve their dreams, and accomplish many great things. We each take our own path as we set off on our journey of life to into the unknown and make the most out of this precious thing called LIFE

As we go about our journey, we should keep in mind that no two people will have the same journey so there’s no need to feel like you have to compare yourself to others. That’s the beauty of things. Though some of our paths will cross with others, that doesn’t mean that we share the same exact path and we have our own destinations. We each take a different path and everyone doesn’t take the same path at the same time. Once you have found your journey and you are ready to travel, always remember why your goals are important, figure out what inspires you the most, and be ready to face those unexpected challenges that you may face along the way. Enjoy where life takes you so be proud of your journey. It can only get better from here!

Too Much Focus on The Outcome

I have been on quite the hiatus this year in terms of blogging. The reason being is my focus on what’s next in my life. As I plan ahead for the future, I can’t help but to think about what’s next. I ask myself questions like: “Am I am doing what I was destined to do? and “Is all of this hard work worth it in the end?” While these questions are great to have, I have now found myself asking this too much. You see my problem is focusing too much on the outcome and this has caused me to miss out on what’s right in front of me. Focusing on the future is great but sometimes our minds are so far ahead in the near future that we don’t realize all of the great opportunities that are available to us right NOW. While we want to forget about our past and have a great future, we may find ourselves ignoring the PRESENT. Now that I am back to reality, I have been enjoying all of the great things that are going on now. Don’t get me wrong. I still have been setting goals both short term and long term but I am also realizing what can be done today and tomorrow. If you’re worried about the future, take a deep breath. You’re going to be just fine. Start focusing on right now and everything will fall into place in the future so you can have a great outcome.

I hope that you all are having a great 2014 so far and I wish you all nothing but success this year.

Evaluate What’s Important

As 2013 comes to an end, I have reflected on this past year and all of the important events and accomplishments that have occurred in my life this year. After thinking about all of the things that happened in 2013 both good and bad,I must say that I couldn’t be any happier. This year was such a great year for me and I have really started to become the person that I aspire to be. What allowed for me to achieve all of these great things was my evaluation on what was most important to me. When I made a goal for myself, I asked myself why it was important that I achieved that particular goal. “Was it for myself?” “Would it affect my family in any way?” These were some of the questions that I asked myself when I started making some important changes in my life. I wanted to become a better me!

While a brand new year is around the corner (a day away), most of you want to do things better next year. You want to achieve great things and focus on yourselves. In order to do that, you must evaluate what’s important. Ask yourself why you want to be better and how can being better change your life. “Will you keep the same friends” “Will you have the same job?” or “Is that promotion at work really something that would mean a lot to you if you got it?” These are just some of the questions that may serve as a wake up call to you when you think about becoming a better you. Evaluate what you want to change and devise a plan to make those changes to feel better, look better and be better. I wish you a prosperous new year and nothing but success. Please remember that all good things take time so don’t get discouraged. Just keep pushing forward and you’ll end up proud of who you’ve become.

The Effect of Change

This week has been one of the most inspiring weeks that I have had in a very long time. I discovered my immense level of happiness. I realized that I am not the same person that I was a year ago and that is truly one of the best realizations that has every occurred for me. A year ago, I was this doubtful person that had a ton of goals but I was unsure if I my goals were too unrealistic. I have always believed that if something happens, it was meant to be and it pained me to question whether or not my goals were meant to be. It made me nervous to think that maybe these things that I had planned in the future weren’t going to happen after all. As optimistic as I was, the feeling of doubt crept up on me from time to time making me feel an unwanted amount of uncertainty. It was a dark place in my life that I never want to revisit.

Fast forward to a year later, and I have the biggest smile on my face. I am HAPPY! I can say that with confidence. I am finally doing the things that I always wanted to do. I have a new outlook on life and I view the world as an exciting place of opportunity. I’ve made connections with people who have inspired me to live my life to the absolute fullest and I always keep positive people in my circle. I no longer worry about  the what ifs and anything that is unknown. I know that with my high level of confidence, I can get through anything and that hard work leads to success. I am very proud of myself and I couldn’t be any happier.

I wanted to share this with you because I want you to know that change is nothing to be afraid of. So much can change within a week, month, and year. Yes there will be challenges on the way but you must be prepared to face those challenges and when things begin to change for you, you must accept those changes. You worked so hard to achieve your goals so let whatever changes that need to happen occur. Change your mindset, your group of friends, your perspectives, your lifestyle. Do whatever it is that you need to do to get to where you finally want to be in life. I promise you that its worth it,

Seek Happiness,

What is Your Purpose?

What is your purpose? Yes, this question is aimed to you who is reading this at this very moment. I want you to think about these two things: Do you have purpose and if you do know your purpose, do you believe in it? What is a purpose you may ask? According to the dictionary, purpose is defined as an intended or desired result;end;aim;goal. Throughout our lives, we set goals and we have already decided how we want things to be. We can almost picture it our purpose and envision the things that we desperately want to have. Some of us are working really hard to one day have their desired outcome while others can tell you what they want but they aren’t taking the necessary steps in order to get to where they want to be. If you already know your purpose, think carefully about what you want to achieve. Ask yourself these questions: How long will it take?, Is this truly what I want or is this temporary? and lastly, Am I as dedicated as I need to be? Once you have answered these questions, you will be 100% sure if you truly know your purpose.

Now it’s perfectly fine if you don’t know your purpose right now but you should try to figure out what your purpose is. We should always have a purpose no matter what we say or do. There is always a reason behind our actions and our thoughts. For those of you who don’t have a purpose just yet, I want you to think carefully about how you want your life to be exactly one month from now. Do you see yourself doing the same things that you are doing this month? Or do you see yourself making necessary changes? If you are not progressing each day, you must reevaluate your goals. Sometimes we may find ourselves saying that we have a whole year to make changes so we put our list of goals to the side and we end up forgetting about them. If this has been you in the past, this no longer has to be you. Make changes now and work towards what you want to achieve so the next month, the next 60 days, and the beginning of the new year, you won’t be doing the same things that you’re doing today. You must change your mindset as you venture on the journey to find your purpose. Your purpose is within you, you must seek it! Find your purpose and discover who you were destined to be!
